There's electricity in the air as Tesla teases us like a Vegas stripper with its Model S sedan. Paying for a private dance with the company is our Uncle Sam, spotting the ailing electric car company a $350 million loan to tide them over for a while. If this next car from Tesla can actually get off the drawing boards and onto the road, that might be a worthy investment.
That cash infusion significantly brightens the future for Tesla. If all goes as planned (which it often doesn't with this Tesla bunch), the $60,000 four-door Model S will be rolling off the assembly line sometime in 2011. Riding the coattails of the Lotus-designed Tesla Roadster body, this Model S is going to be a sweet ride, the first car body actually designed by Tesla.
