Persnickety photog has good reasons to love a cheap $300 Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook

We had just about dismissed the idea of carrying around a tiny netbook until we read about photographer Rob Galbraith's experience with his Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook. Notice the $300 tinyBook wedged into Galbraith's camera bag on the far left of this pic — it fits in there perfectly. Plus, he likes its "photography-friendly LED display."

I'm giving this Mini 9 a second look. Galbraith, whose eye for color is way better than mine, says its overall hue accuracy is better than a MacBook Pro. Now all I need to do is get used to the Mini 9's 8.9-inch screen that must be viewed from front and center, and its minuscule keyboard, and I'll be all set. Oh yeah, and I'll need to scrounge up that $300, but that price is bound to drop soon, anyway.
