Tomy unleashes Japanese schoolgirl army equipped with shoulder-mounted karaoke

Billed as the world's smallest karaoke system, Tomy's Hi-Kara device promises to allow you to annoy and astonish music lovers anywhere you go. The tiny cube houses a 2.4-inch screen that displays animations and song lyrics just like a traditional, full-size Japanese karaoke system. Although the set up includes a microphone and headphone jacks for two, allowing you to privatize your embarrassing renditions, it shouldn't take much hacking to plug the Hi-Kara up to a speaker and really take the overly cute (the device comes in pink and white) nuisance to the next level. The kawaii hellbox will be available for 10,500 yen ($97) in October here.
