Retinal scanning display glasses are insane

Now here's a little piece of technology I didn't know existed: retinal projectors. This pair of eyeglasses has a retinal scanning display on board, weighing a mere 25g and sitting comfortably on your face. It then "irradiates low-intensity light on the retina and scans it with the light at a high speed." Essentially, it uses your retina as a projector screen and shoots an image right onto it
Holy crap! Since when was it possible to have glasses that beamed an image directly into your eye! Personally, I'd worry that it could malfunction and blind me, but I guess there's no reward without a little bit of risk. OK, fair enough. Bring on the retinal scanning display glasses!
