Architecture firm plans to build mile-high, tragically ugly block

Screw aesthetics. Hyder Consulting is only concerned by how tall its building is, not how it looks. The group is planning to build an epic, mile-tall block somewhere in the Middle East, though whether or not it's painted red or follows the classic black of bar graph chic has yet to be seen.

What you're actually looking at is a size comparison slapped together to see how the theoretical building compares to its competitors today. Looks like it totally blows the rest out of the water, but without details Hyder Consulting's planned megalith may as well be a billion miles tall. Skyscrapers aren't that tall for a reason — it takes careful planning to keep them standing.
