Mitsubishi, the people who invented the 35-inch television and were first to market with 1080p DLP HDTV, today showed off their Laser television. And a new TV category is born. I must admit, this rear-projection TV tech looks very good with deep color and great sharpness. As a bonus, the Laser TV is capable of delivering a true 3D viewing experience, which looked amazing at the demo (you still need glasses, of course).

Mitsubishi claims that the Laser TV will provide the highest performance in HDTV with low power consumption. Of course I only saw the unveiling — you'll have to decide for yourself whether Laser TV makes the cut when it becomes available late this year (according to company reps, for what that's worth)
