CES Weird: Eton FR150 Microlink radio probably won't inspire hand cranks to catch on

Attention Inspector Gadget: Your radio is here. The FR150 Microlink is — take a deep breath — a self-powered AM/FM/NOAA weather radio with LED flashlight, solar panel and cellphone charger. You can run the radio or charge cellphones with its built-in NiMH batteries. The batteries get charged up via the solar panel or the hand crank. And if you want to enlarge your carbon footprint, you can buy an optional AC adapter.
People may buy this radio with the good intentions of going green, but I wonder how long they'll crank it before they say screw it and plug it into the wall? What do you think? A month? Two? Well, anyway, price of the FR150: $30. Saving the planet: Priceless.
