We always write about things like computers and cellphones that are constantly being given updates, but what about more lowly, traditional gadgets? You know, like the toaster? When does it get its day in the sun?

Well, how's about today? Just take a look at this insane turbo toaster prototype. It uses what looks like a miniature jet engine to get your bread from zero to toasted in a record amount of time. Well, 50 seconds at least, which doesn't seem that fast for how huge this toaster is. Something tells me this is going to stay a prototype, as no one would want it taking up precious counter space just so they can save 40 seconds in the morning. Sorry toasters, I spoke too soon. Maybe tomorrow will be your day.
