Other than businesses and old folks, I really can't think of too many people who have a use for a landline. Cell phones — and in a more major way smart phones — make fixed sets just seem cumbersome.

That said, this Projection Telephone is deciding to boldly sally forth for one last hurrah. It'll do everything your basic telephone will, but it'll also project call details onto a nearby ceiling or wall. I suppose you could angle it so you can readily check who's dialed you from the couch, but it's even easier just to glance at your cell.

The Projection Telephone is cheap, though — $30.
