Paper-thin speaker delivers virtual surround sound

The way things are going, before too long we'll all be trying to find our invisible gadgets. From tiny cellphones to thin TVs, everybody wants smaller and thinner gadgets. And Japan is here to deliver what people want. Just take a look at that speaker. Yes, it's a speaker.

Yeah, this prototype speaker is paper thin and can even pump out virtual surround sound, making it sound like you've got a whole bevy of speakers all around you when in fact you've just got what looks like a piece of screen propped up in front of you. No word on if or when this tech will get placed into consumer tech or just how good it sounds, but I'm sure it won't be too long before we'll get a chance to give it a test run on our own.
