Carbon fiber stone Spada skis are a skier's whet dream

These Spada skis, made from Grisons granite, aren't as rigid as you might think. A technique by Technocarbon of Munich allows the carbon fiber stone to bend and, just like stone, can take quite a bit of force acting on it and retains its shape nicely. What's that mean for skiers? Well, reliable skies that'll conform to the rigors of any slope without snapping or, arguably worse, warping mid-ski, and stone also helps reduce vibration, keep its long-lasting smoothness and grip.

Made by Zai, captained by designer Simon Jacomet, the Spada skis are an extremely limited edition set from a company that only makes limited edition skis. Only 500 Zai skis are made yearly, and those who use them know you're liable to not use anything else. Zai hails from Disentis, Switzerland.
