$180,000 speakers aren't worth it
Apparently, there's no limit to how much high-end speaker manufacturers are willing to charge the super-rich for ludicrous speakers. I mean, how good can speakers possibly sound? Good enough to justify a $180,000 price tag? I doubt it. But hey, someone out there has got to be willing to spend that much, right? Otherwise they wouldn't make them.
In any case, these MBL X-treme Speakers are as high-end as speakers get. What makes them so fancy? Well! They use "two of MBL's unique vibrating element omni-directional drivers from the 101E, one suspended and inverted above the other, mounted on a massive platform made from carbon fiber, aluminum, steel, acrylic, and wood." Oh, well why didn't you say that in the first place? Let me just go get my checkbook.
