Another day, another gigantic pair of overpriced speakers. Today's contestants are the Penaudio Chronos speakers. They're pretty nice looking towers, cased in wood of various colors (your choice!) and standing tall enough to let people know that you're really serious about your home theater setup. And just to let you know that you're serious, they'll cost you a whopping $8,550 a pair.

Who knows if these things sound better or worse than speakers that cost $850 a pair, or $85,500 a pair for that matter. It seems to me that once you hit a certain point, there's not a huge difference between high-end speakers. But hey, if you're willing to spend the money, there are people out there willing to take it from you. — Adam Frucci
