I don't really use CDs unless I'm ripping them, but this Marantz CD player looks good enough to make me wish I did. The Marantz CR201 Personal CD System takes a vertical approach to the whole affair, featuring a sliding top panel with a mirror finish. The CR201 wins a few more style points with its blue LED-lit CD bay, which makes the spinning disc visible during play (as pictured below).

If you're just not keen on CDs at all, the CR201 also has USB to play your digital tunes. It costs $760 so you're paying a premium for looks, though if you get it through AudioCubes the manual and remote are both in Japanese. Who knows, maybe that's a selling point, too? — Kevin Hall
