Here's a great example of horrible gadget design. This doggie lamp is creepy and awful in amost every way. First, there are the red, glowing eyes, which give our electronic canine friend a decidedly demonic feel. The there's the fact that you charge him up by plugging a cable into his nostrils. Alternatively, you can plug his backside into a wall outlet, which isn't much of an improvement. Then there's the umbrella coming out of his head, which I've never seen on a real dog before.

Overall, I'd have to give this designer a D- for execution. But hey, they're only like $7 each! That's cheap! I'll take three. — Adam Frucci
