Microsoft brings their big guns to the webcam market
Generally speaking, webcams suck. I mean, they're fine for what they do, which is take grainy photos of you sitting shirtless at your computer, but they don't take the kinds of shots you'd want to print out and frame. Well, Microsoft wants to up the ante a bit with their new webcam, and they aren't messing around.
The new VX-7000 LifeCam will shoot 7.6-megapixel still photos and take video at an impressive 2-megapixels. It's pretty sexy looking, too, fitting flush with your computer. The mic has acoustic noise cancellation, which should help you come across clearer when speaking. It has a blogging button, but all that does is automatically post your footage to a Windows Live Spaces blog. Tough luck if you have a blog hosted anywhere else. It drops this month for $100.
