In what could be great news for a few people and terrible news for the rest of us, Apple has applied for a patent for a karaoke iPod. Yes, an iPod that tells you the lyrics of the song you're listening to in real-time, allowing for you to, god forbid, sing along.
Sure, this could be fun the one night a year most people get drunk enough to think karaoke is a good idea, but do we really want to encourage amateur singers to be singing along to Carrie Underwood on the streets? I personally want as little singing along as humanly possible happening when I'm around, so I'm pretty set against any technological advancements that encourage it. Try again, Apple.
