Ugobe taking preoders on Pleo dinobot, coming this fall for $349

It's been a while since we heard form our dinosaur-robot pal Pleo, last seeing him back in January at CES. At the time, Pleo manufacturer Ugobe said he'd be available in the summer, which was already a postponement from the original spring 2007 release. Now the target launch is fall. The company seems to be serious about it this time, though — Ugobe's taking preorders starting today. You should be able to pick up a Pleo in Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart stores come October.

The bad news is that Pleo will cost $349, a little higher than the company originally hoped. One of the reasons might be the bot's battery was redesigned to make it replaceable, so Pleo need not die on you after it can no longer hold a charge.

Also launching today: PleoWorld, Ugobe's online community based around the dinobot. Visitors may not have a hell of a lot to talk about until fall, but at least there's a video of Pleo being all cute and stuff. That's something, right? Right?
