Oral-B brings wireless technology to tooth brushing, at last

It must be electric-toothbrush week in the gadget world, since we just saw Sonicare's all-new radioactive FlexCare brush, and now Oral-B is upgrading its Triumph model. The new Oral-B brush includes a "SmartGuide" — an LCD screen that you plunk on the counter, which gives you a running count of how long you've been brushing so you spend the right amount of time on each of your four mouth quadrants. And if you need to run out of the bathroom in midbrush because Conan just said something hilarious, the SmartGuide communicates wirelessly with the brush to figure out where you're at when you return.

The upgrade is definitely superior to earlier Triumphs, which had the countdown on the handle (not that practical), but I still prefer Sonicare's simple audible cues for when you should switch from brushing bottom-front to top-back, et al. Still, if you're looking for gadget up your bathroom counter a little more, the Triumph's LCD will help. CrunchGear reports it will be out "very soon" for $150.
