My parents' place used to have a bar in the basement. It was glorious, topped with orange and beige tiles and sided with faux-wood paneling. In the mid '90s my dad got into computers and decided that the bar had to go to make room for his home office. If only we could have simply deflated the bar instead of smashing it with a sledgehammer, we'd have been able to hold onto it.
So you can see why I'm excited about Bubble, a company that rents and sells inflatable and illuminated bars. The blow-up bars range in size from 4 to 11 feet wide, and there's a coffee table, too. Each of them can hold substantial weight and comes with a carrying case with wheels for ease of use. It's never too early to start planning your first big summer bash — all you need is one of these Bubble bars, liquor, a huge pool, and an inflatable iceberg.
