Glow-in-the-dark paper lights up your life

Since so many of us drag our photo albums with us camping (and apparently forget flashlights) here's a nifty solution-in-search-of-a-problem you can have some fun with: paper that glows in the dark! Of course, luminescent products are hardly new — the hook here is longevity. Manufacturer Brightec's whiz-bang paper charges via any ambient light source in mere minutes but lasts for hours thanks to a unique patented pigment. Print crisp photos, funky birthday favors, neon CD covers, creepy business cards, and the like.

During Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004, the paper was used to thwart ticket forgery, and Brightec come up with a few safety applications such as low-cost exit signs that you can read in the dark, or medicine labels that are easy to identify in low-light conditions. Available directly from Brightec's online store, they come in packs of 4 x 6-inch or 8 x 11-inch sheets for $10 or $20 respectively.
