Best Buy to offer $15k home integration solution
Home integration, the idea that hooking everything in your house up together so it can be controlled from a central location, is gonna be big in 2007. Best Buy, never a store to shy away from sticking their sharp syringe of opportunism into the veiny arm of American consumers, is set to offer a $15,000 (!) setup for lazy moneybags called ConnectedLife.Home. The Kia-priced setup includes a Media Center PC, an Xbox 360, video cameras, light switches, and more fun goodies.
New wiring isn't required, as the setup connects through powering Ethernet technology, but for your dollars someone will come set it up for you and teach your lazy ass how to turn the upstairs bathroom lights on from the living room couch. Viva la technology!
