Could HD-movie downloading become all the rage on, of all things, the Xbox 360? Microsoft sure hopes so. It's rumored that the boys from Redmond have an ace up their sleeve, and it's on-demand HD movie downloading. According to a somewhat shady blog (always the most reliable source of info), over 1,000 hours of content will become available for $4 a rental or an undisclosed price. If this happens and does well it'll certainly be a kick in the pants for "give me Blu-ray or give me death" Sony, whose choice to include the HD drive in its PlayStation 3 has caused all sorts of problems with manufacturing and PR. We'll keep you updated as soon as we get official word on this hairy rumor.
