Motion-sensing speakers: because they can

It seems to me that technology falls into two distinct categories: first, there's technology that improves your life by making tasks easier. Second, there's technology that does stuff just because it's possible. Falling distinctly into the latter category are these E-revolution Motion Speakers. In addition to the space-age ambient light technology, they're also controlled by a simple wave of the hand. Rather than the boring knobs people have been using to control their speakers since the stone age, these puppies have motion-sensing technology. Just wave your hand in front of them to turn them up or down as well as changing the station when you're listening to the radio on the integrated FM tuner. The future is now, I guess. These will be available next month in Japan for about $69 in blue, green, and red.
