All aboard the fun train! Wii train controller hits Japan

Ah, Japan — a country I am fascinated by that continues to baffle me on any number of levels. Today's "Japan, really?" moment comes from this new Wii controller. No, it doesn't appear to use the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities. It's just a train controller. You've got your throttle there, some buttons in the middle, and what looks like the most poorly designed cup holder ever up on the display. Apparently train simulators are all the rage in Japan, as there are few things more exciting than getting to places on time and stopping in a slow and responsible manner. No, no laser-wielding aliens at this stop, just some salarymen who need to get to work on time. Get to it! It's improbable we'll ever get this controller on our shores, since I don't think a train sim will be released here that makes good use of the throttle and that sideways cup holder. But hey, you can always import it.
