Pioneer sticks home theater in your car, gets you into an accident
Don't people ever worry about getting distracted while driving? If you happened to install one of Pioneer's new car entertainment systems, you'd have a hard time keeping your eyes on the road. Featuring a built-in 30-GB hard drive, a 7-inch LCD screen, a DVD player, and GPS, the systems are basically like a mini home-entertainment system for your dashboard. There's even an optional TV tuner! Who could possibly pay attention to rush hour when The Bachelor is on? You can rip CDs to the hard disk to save for later, although it saves the songs in Atrac3 format, whatever that may be. I'm not sure about saving TV shows to the disk, but I doubt that DVR capabilities are included. And seriously, do you need a DVR in your car? I'll answer that for you: you don't. This is slated to hit the shores of Japan come October, with no word on pricing or availability stateside.
