While JVC was pretty quick to enter the HD camcorder market with its 720p resolution GR-HD1 a couple of years back, it were beaten to the punch by arch rivals Canon and Sony when it comes to showing a consumer model that can sport the buzzwords "Full HD" with 1,920 x 1,080-pixel resolution. To allay fears that it might be falling behind, JVC gave selected members of the press at the recent IFA show in Berlin, a sneak preview of an as-yet-unnamed HD Everio model. With full 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, the new 3-CCD model will record to a nonremovable hard drive, meaning no tapes necessary, and can operate at either 50 or 60 Hz to remain compatible with worldwide HD video standards.
