Have you been scouring the Net for a waterproof MP3 player to go with those underwater headphones or waterproof speakers you got awhile back? The Hydra is ready to rock while wet. Playing MP3s, WAVs, ACTs, and WMAs, it'll stay water-resistant to an unspecified depth. The body is pretty durable, too, apparently, though if you manage to accidentally give this Hydra the equivalent of a sword to the heart, don't freak out. It's only $40 for a new 1-GB model or $70 for 2 GB — a paltry sum, as MP3 players go these days, and a fair chunk cheaper than the new iPod shuffle. — Peter Pachal
