The wait is finally over: the first waterproof fingerprint reader is now available. We aren't exactly sure what the purpose of this is, but if you've ever really needed secure access to your data and just couldn't keep your fingers dry while doing it, this should solve one of your surely numerous problems. The device works just like a normal fingerprint scanner, allowing you to protect your data without using a password. As passwords can be compromised much more easily than your fingerprints can be replicated, it should be a more secure way to keep things under wraps. And if you need access in the shower or pool, I guess this is your only choice. For a mere $172, it seems totally worth it to us.
