Palm is expected to announce its newest Palm OS-based handheld next week, its first since October 2004. Said to be called the 700p, the new device will be the first Palm to connect to high-speed EV-DO networks since the company started designing organizers using Windows Mobile as well as its own operating system. It isn't yet known on which carrier the 700p will be available. … ICANN, the group that creates domain names for the World Wide Web, voted today to not add a .xxx Internet suffix for adult Web sites. The triple-x domain was pitched as a way to make it easier for people to avoid adult content online, but many conservative politicians claimed that it would legitimize pornography. … Google announced four new services today: Co-op, Trends, Notebook, and Desktop 4. Co-op, arguably the most interesting feature, allows users to "tag" Web sites with topic labels for easy filtering. For example, if you searched for "Unreal Tournament" in the computer and videogames section, you could filter the results by reviews, screenshots, or demos to get to the specific info you wanted. There are only a limited number of subjects available at the moment, but Google plans to expand the service in the near future.
