New chip lets cameras snap 30 pics per second

A new chip designed by Micron Technology will allow digital still cameras to shoot up to 30 shots per second, capturing fast motion or creating photomontages à la A Hard Days Night. Able to capture 30 photos per second at 2 megapixels each or 10 photos at 8 megapixels, the chips would essentially allow still cameras to shoot high-definition video. The ability to take multiple pictures per second will give photographers more opportunities to get better photos, capturing multiple images in a short period of time and giving them choice of the best one.
