Finding an address on a dark night typically involves a lot of stop-and-go, try to get a closer look at various buildings' numbers — if you're lucky enough even find them in the shadows. But if everybody used matterinc's Solar LED numbers, your days of hunting and squinting would be over. The number fixtures have a panel on top that absorbs sunlight during the day to power the backlight-providing LEDs at night. The mount holds the anodized-aluminum number plate about an inch from the wall, so the backlight clearly reveals the number — perfect for addresses and really creative birthday cakes. Each plate is about 6 inches tall and costs $18.
