GPS puts guided tours back on the map

Blackbox AV is hoping GPS can guide the tour industry. Frontier, intended primarily for train, bus, and boat tours, is the Welsh company's "intelligent guide while you ride." Audio tours are typically designed around estimations of where a tour will be and when. However, unexpected obstacles — deserted furniture on the tracks, traffic in the streets, scurvy — can send a tour off course. With Frontier, GPS uses predetermined coordinates to monitor tour progress and ensure the right information is being relayed at the right time. We know guided tours tend to draw a senior crowd, but at least they'll know Big Ben from Westminster come slideshow time.
