Shining Carpet lights the way

"Glow in the dark" can often be a cheesy concept, but here's a place where it would come in handy: your carpet. Just think: no need to turn on a light and risk waking anyone when nature calls in the middle of the night. It doesn't even need power — the strands of yarn absorb light during the day (either natural or artificial), releasing a greenish glow when things get dark. If you want one, the designer's site says prices of its products vary according to size, although the carpet is described as a prototype. Still, keeping your midnight snacking a stumble-free experience might be worth the wait, and having your house glow like a Borg ship at night is a bonus.
