E3 2014: Everything Sony announced for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita

In case you haven't heard, the success of the PlayStation 4 has put Sony back on top of the gaming leader board for the first time in eight years. Last year, Sony "won" E3 2013 by having a next to perfect press conference by focusing on what fans cared most about: gaming.

Having "lost" last year, Microsoft decided to focus its entire Xbox One E3 2014 press conference on gaming. I'm sure gamers appreciated Microsoft's emphasis on gaming, but Sony seriously had it all. Take a look for yourself.

White PS4 with Destiny Bundle

Sony kickstarted its E3 2014 press conference with new video gameplay for sci-fi shooter Destiny, but then it put up a slide for a white PlayStation 4 console bundle, with matching white DualShock 4, a copy of Destiny and a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership. The bundle will be available on September 9 for $449.

YouTube Sharing

Sony says the DualShock 4's "Share" button has been used 220 million times. Who knew sharing gameplay videos would become so big. And later this year, it's going to get even better: uploading videos from the PS4 to YouTube is coming.

PlayStation Now Open Beta

PlayStation Now, Sony's streaming game service will arrive on July 31 as an open beta for everyone. FYI, it lets you play PS3 games by leveraging the power of the cloud. PlayStation Now for PS3 and PS Vita will come shortly after. Select Sony smart TVs will also be compatible.

PS Vita

The PlayStation 4 wasn't the only game console Sony announced new games for. The PS Vita also got some minor love. Sony says there are over 100 Vita titles in development including Minecraft (full console experience with co-op), Child of Light and Tales from the Borderlands.

PlayStation TV

Announced at Tokyo Game Show last year, the PS Vita TV is back and it's coming to the U.S. and Canada with a new name: PlayStation TV. The off-white finish is gone, replaced with a matte black look (to better match all of the other black-colored boxes under your TV, of course). Right off the bat, the PlayStation TV will have access to over 1,000 games at launch.

The little micro-console that plays PS Vita games with a DualShock 3 controller and works with the PlayStation Now game service will cost $99 when it launches this fall. A $139 bundle will come with a DualShock 3 controller, 8GB memory card, and voucher for a free copy of The LEGO Movie Game.
