Image of the Day: Glowing mutant bunnies

Did you know that we can create hybrids of jellyfish and rabbits that glow bright green? We totally can. The reason to do it is to track genetic traits (by tagging them with fluorescent proteins), an important step in treating a variety of diseases. But besides all that, it's just damn cool to look at. Says one researcher:

"These rabbits are like a light bulb glowing, like an LED light all over their body. And on top of it, their fur is beginning to grow and the greenness is shining right through their fur. It's so intense."
