The Homer now exists in reality

Homer Simpson isn’t generally credited with a knack for engineering. The iconic character was always better at drinking beer and living life in the laziest possible manner. He’s also not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Every once in a while, though, he was struck by inspiration so great, he’d leave the couch.

Fans probably remember The Homer, a car he designed in season 2 for the average American. It came with three horns, giant cup holders, bubble domes (with restraints and muzzles to keep the kids quiet) and a number of other absurd features. It was so unrealistic and expensive, it caused the fictional Powell Motors to go out of business.

The actual, real-life Porcubimmer Motors ignored Powell’s decline and decided to actually create this car. The car, described in the episode as “powerful like a gorilla, yet soft and yielding like a Nerf ball,” may or may not be the car of the future.

After all, at one time, this is what the average man would one day be driving. Now that it exists, there’s nothing to do but sit back and wait.

Take a look at it below.
