Dizzying images of Hong Kong show urban life at its best

Romain Jacquet-Lagreze is a French photographer whose most recent series, "Vertical Heights," shows bustling Hong Kong in a totally new way. Jacquet-Lagreze photographs this fascinating metropolis from unique, vertigo-inspiring angles that defy traditional urban cityscape images. Despite the acute housing shortage due to the city's intense population density, there's much symmetry to be discovered in the "Pearl of the Orient."

Jacquet-Lagreze comments on this project:

"Vertical Horizon is a photographic journey between the buildings of a relentlessly growing city. It is a deep immersion into the city's thick atmospheres and a visual record of its wildly diverse built environment. This book is like a contemplative dive into the raw nature of Hong Kong and an expression of its vertical elan."

You can buy his book here for $280. And don't miss the sample of images from "Vertical Heights" in the gallery below. They're sure to stun you, especially if you've never been to Hong Kong.
