Gallery: High-speed images of water and ink mixing

Credit: Alberto Seveso

Alberto Seveso does a lot of work with high-speed photography. This series of images captures the swirling pattern formed when water and ink mix together. Here's what Seveso likes about his work: "It makes me think about the possibility to stop time in a click.” And it's true — each snap of the camera freezes the spiraling liquid at a unique moment, never to be repeated in exactly the same way again.

Since his custom photography has been used in album cover art for musicians like The Temper Trap and The Black Seeds, his work has become highly sought after.

The images in the gallery below were the "rejects" from the photo shoots for Seveso's commissioned photos.
