The large display on the Samsung Galaxy S III has been a hit with consumers, and people have been wondering when (or if) Apple is going to make an iPhone with a similar style. According to rumors from China, it appears that the iPhone 6 just might grant those wishes.
A report from Chinese mobile site Laoyaoba claims that a source has seen the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6, and that the latter has a five-inch screen and is even thinner and lighter than the iPhone 5. According to the source, both models may be released later this year.
While the new "phablet" (phone + tablet) style of smartphone has some wondering if this form factor convergence is getting out of hand, the trend toward larger smartphone screens continues to gather steam. Sources claim that LG has a phone in the works called the Optimus G Pro, which will hop on the phablet bandwagon and feature a massive 5.5-inch screen.
Apple-focused site iMore crafted a mock-up of what the rumored iPhone 6 might look like in comparison to older models, which you can see in the image above.
