Zombie attack! Montana TV station broadcasts official alert

Great Falls Montana sounds like a sleepy little city, but yesterday residents must have been shocked to learn that they were smack in the middle of a zombie attack.

The warning came in one of those Emergency Alert System messages stations sometimes send out, only this time it wasn't a test. The warning went out during a commercial for the Perfect Pancake Flipper, and said that "the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves, and attacking the living."

KRTV channel 3 says that they have no idea how the warning made it onto the air, but that someone had apparently hacked into their Emergency Alert System equipment.

Unlike the famous 1938 Orson Welles broadcast of The War of the Worlds which resulted in widespead hysteria, the people of Great Falls seemed pretty jaded by the whole thing. Local police say that they didn't get a single call from a panicked member of the public. Then again, perhaps spending too much time in Great Falls Montana would turn anyone into a bit of a zombie.

Check out the video to see how the alert appeared to KRTV viewers.
