Video of the Day: Solar explosions

If you think about it, the Sun is just one giant continuous explosion parked in the middle of our solar system. And this explosion sometimes has more explosions explosively exploding off of it. Back in September, NASA recorded this staggeringly large one, which threw off a plasma filament that could have swallowed our entire puny little planet about 25 times over. This, people, is why we need to colonize Mars: as a single-planet species next door to an H-Bomb that never stops going off, it would be nice to have a Plan B. Just in case.
